Happy or content.......

Three week ago, I was at my best friend back yard with glass of champagne on hand when the phone ringing, my friend face softens, and I know it's his lovely boyfriend.

"He makes you so happy doesn't he?" I ask, suprisingly, a flicker of doubt appears on his face. "Do you mean happy or content?" he says.. "In the begining I was happy, I had that tummy flip feeling, and I miss it. It might look good from the outside, but this whole long-term "married" things can get a bit boring." I should've know better than to ask - we're all been there.

One minute you're both contentedly rattling about the house, looking like you're been styled by an 80 - year - old librarian, then a scene comes on telly showing some sexy couple pashing.

You sign and think: "If only that bit lasted forever." then elbows it's way into your good mood. "May be it can, may be I just choose the wrong person." Blissful contentment sours and shifts into moody resentment. Do any of us really know if we're happy with our partner?

How much of it is history and habit? How much of it is not wanting to state at a strange ceiling worrying about our wobbly bits? Does the happiness come from being with our partners as an individual, or just from being in a nice relationship?

Do all long - term relationship reach a point where they've humdrum and routine?

They never show the boring bit of relationship in the movie because, well, they're boring.

There's a world of difference between being in love and simply loving someone. Watching just move-in couple purchasing a must-have white platters and long - steammed champagne glasses at the local Ikea funiture knowing they're going home to snuggle up on their designer sofas and watch foreign films, depresses the hell out of those in comfy - as - old slippers relationships ......

What am i talking about eh!!!!!!! I don't know.... It's just me.... It could be monday bluess......
